Dracula
Count Dracula
from Steve The Vampire
Making vampire puppets is kinda tricky.
There have been alot of them in the past. Mostly Dracula inspired too, so it was an interesting challenge to make a Drac puppet and not have it look like the others we've seen.
Of course there's the Count Von Count from Sesame Street and Count Blah form Greg the Bunny, and I love both of those characters. So I really didn't want our Dracula to look like those. Then right after I made Drac Forgetting Sarah Marshall came out (see the movie if you haven't, and you'll understand why I mention it) so there were a ton of Dracs out there. I wanted to make sure to pay tribute to The Count and Count Blah and to Bela Lugosi too with my Drac...
And I think I did just fine!
A little bit of each and a totally original Elmwood Puppet!

We can't all be the greatest puppet ever...
I was making a bunch of hand puppets one cold February night out of boredom, using up scraps from other puppets, and as I got more tired they got more weird. Then this one happend. And I realized it was very late and I was very very tired.
I blame watching Plan 9 From Outer Space that night for this puppet. A sock, some google eyes, a hot glue gun, and a couple pieces of felt...
And this guy is wrong on so many levels, hahaha...

G.I. Joe! A Real American Marionette
Marionette
This was my very first ever attempt at making a marionette back in 2005. What I did was snap and cut out all the joints on the action figure then replace them with fabric, then strung him up. I got the idea from seeing a Batman marionette that looked loke it was done that way.
