Reel Talk Episode 1
So I never wanted to be one of those guys who sits on camera and talks about "stuff". Then I met Rich Cyr. I sat down with Rich a month or so ago to be interviewed for his radio show "Nutmeg Chatter Presents Claw's Corner", to talk about HEAD and all things Elmwood. And we hit it off.
Rich is a genuine sweet guy, and his enthusiasm for talking about movies is contagious! When I was being interviewed he mentioned having me back on to just talk about horror films. And I was in, for sure.
Then, well, the plague...
Then, well, the plague...
So Rich reached out and mentioned doing the interview/conversation via Zoom. And before either of us knew it we had a "show" on our hands.
And Reel Talk was born. We'll be chatting about horror films, mostly. The first one is us geeking out over the "Evil Dead" flicks. What I like is that we're not being critics. We're not analyzing every detail. We're just talking about movies we like, and our experiences as fans.

I don't think we're locking ourselves to a strict schedule either. Just when we can, and have fun! Hoping to get some of the Elmwood crew on for episodes, because they are all true movie geeks too. I look forward to not having to do this via a webcam too. Can't wait to record in "real life".

Iggy
Iggy
The story of Iggy...
In 1994 Jim Henson Productions teamed up with Hasbro to make a line of toys based on the idea of "The Muppet Workshop". As part of this they made two puppets, with removable features. I was just really starting to want to take puppetry kinda seriously as a hobby, or life and these were awesome to me. Especially as a Muppet-head.
I ended up buying both, and named them Iggy and Bowie. The toy line didn't last long though - Here's s link to Muppet Wiki with more info on the puppets.
Iggy definitely got some mileage with me and my friends. He'd come to parties and cause trouble and so on... A couple years later I found another green Muppet at a flea market while some friends and I were camping, so I bought it, and he became the party version of Iggy, and my first one was set aside for safe keeping.
Good thing I did that too. About a year later a buddy was having a party and attached Iggy 2 to a couple dozen helium filled balloons and strung it up over his house. And, well... The string broke. And Iggy ascended. Hahaha...
All these years later I still have Iggy and Bowie in my collection. A couple weeks ago I ended up making my own version of Iggy.
It was something I wanted to do for years.
It was something I wanted to do for years.
It felt great to do it. Like coming full circle from taking my interest in puppetry seriously to having that piece of my history being created by myself. I just made him for myself, and my personal collection.
And Iggy still makes me smile.

Here's some pics of the making of Iggy...
Also - I used a pattern from Adam Kreutinger's website for Iggy, the "Small Fry" pattern. I adapted a couple things, but overall followed the pattern as is. Click HERE to get it yourself! I highly recommend Adam's work!

More about HEAD:
HEAD is a one of a kind film starring an all puppet cast in a throwback to the slasher films of the 1970's and 1980's. A group of twenty somethings go for a nice fall weekend camping trip and end up in the middle of nightmare they may never escape from.
Rated R for all the stuff you'd expect from a horror flick, like blood, four letter words, and puppet nudity. 65 minutes long.

Happy Birthday Mom!
I don't have a ton of pictures of my mom on my computer.
But here's a fun one... Monorail, Disney 1978? Michael, Mom, me, photo taken by my dad...
I've clearly had enough for the day. But I'm ready to go back now! Haha...
She'd be 73 today.
