I'm home. I've showered, relaxed, slept... And thought about this alot.
And I'm still shocked, floored, and full of love.

The speech we get to make on stage Sunday nite doesn't event show a tiny bit of the tip of the iceberg for who I feel we need to thank.

This was sent to my inbox this morning.  I have never seen this.  Actually, still haven't watched it.  Watching old interviews feels odd and weird. 
This was from summer(?) 2014. I was asked to quest on a local colleges TV show about film and film making. I honestly thought it was never aired/released!

Music matters. Music heals.

30 years ago, this past week Meat Loaf released "Bat Out of Hell 2", it was the last album my brother ever bought. It came out the same day that Prince released the "Hits/The B-Sides". I bought that the same day. We spent that day cranking all four of those CDs.

Meat Loaf and Prince, and unlikely combination.

My brother died a couple weeks later.

And those releases, those CDs, were part of my healing.

30 years later I get nostalgic about that healing. And realize I'm still healing.

Love to all my friends. All my family. Love to all who open their hearts and minds to the power of music. 

And I still own those CDs.  

So should you.

Summer's not over yet!

  21 years ago, this week I moved back to Connecticut from a year and a half in Brandon, Florida.

Every year as summer ends, I think about that time.  And I'm always glad I came back. Until it snows of course. I hate the fucking snow.  But anyway...

And as the summer ends I also find my mind moving towards my brother who died just as summer was ending in 1993.  Next month it'll be 30 years since he died.

How did 30 years pass so quick?

Which means it's 23 years since my mom died. Almost on the anniversary of my brother's death.

How did this time pass?

1978

I don't feel old.  I don't believe in "the good ol' days". 
Every day is what you make of it.  The good ol' days are every yesterday. 
Not just memories from decades past.

Life has been good. 
I'm glad it's been weird too.
